We are five researchers involved in a SSHRC\/CMHC-funded Partnership Grant, A Safe and Affordable Place to Call Home: <\/em>A Multi-disciplinary <\/em>Longitudinal Outcomes Analysis of the National Housing Strategy, <\/em>led by Jackie Kennelly and Liam O\u2019Brien. We are all critical social scientists (human geographers, political economists) at Carleton University, cross-appointed in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies<\/a> and the Institute of Political Economy.<\/a> Andree is also appointed in the Department of Political Science<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Patricia Ballamingie<\/a> seeks a prospective PhD (in Geography<\/a>, possibly with a specialization in Political Economy) to examine housing alternatives (e.g., with the RAship focused on the opportunities and constraints associated with tiny houses, but an open thesis topic) using primarily qualitative research methods. Dr. David Hugill<\/a> seeks a prospective MA (in either Geography<\/a> or Political Economy) to examine the politics of inner-city housing markets in Ottawa\u2019s core neighbourhoods, using qualitative methods.  He can be reached at: David.Hugill@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Pablo Mendez<\/a> seeks a prospective MA or PhD student with background in quantitative analysis and\/or applied GIS and an interest in housing affordability and sustainable transportation. He can be reached at: Pablo.Mendez@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jill Wigle<\/a> seeks a prospective MA (in either Geography or Political Economy) or PhD (in Geography, possibly with a specialization in Political Economy) with interests in affordable housing and community land trusts in Ottawa and other Canadian cities using primarily qualitative research methods. Dr. Peter Andree<\/a> seeks a prospective MA (in either Geography, Political Economy or Political Science) with a strong interest in Community-Based Participatory Research methods and\/or Indigenous Research methods.
