\n Students Dive into Field Research in the Madawaska Region as part of their fourth year Undergraduate Field Course\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

Students recently took part in an immersive field course designed to explore local issues in the Madawaska region. Organized into research teams, they conducted hands-on investigations that blended environmental studies, human and physical geography, and geomatics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course began with in-school orientation and skills development, followed by four days of intensive fieldwork. Students rotated through various research areas, learning field methods and collecting data on topics such as water quality, stream gauging, shoreline surveys, and community interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The residential component featured guest lectures and direct engagement with regional stakeholders, enriching students\u2019 understanding of the area’s environmental and social dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remainder of the term will focus on analyzing the data collected during the four days of field work. Students will synthesize their findings and submit comprehensive reports addressing the issues explored in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
