SUMMARY:Making Friends In Canada (Online Workshop)
DESCRIPTION:As we return to more in-person interactions on campus, many of us are looking to meet new friends and build community. After two years of remote learning, making new friends may feel uncomfortable – but the International Student Services Office (ISSO) and Health and Counselling Services (HCS) are here to help!



Join the ISSO and HCS for the ‘Making Friends in Canada’ workshop. In this 90-minute virtual session, students will:




Recognize how culture impacts our beliefs and behaviours when making friends



Explore 3 main stages of meaningful conversations



Identify key campus events and everyday opportunities for starting meaningful conversations



Practice skills in a safe environment through one-on-one role playing and scenarios




This session will take place on Zoom. Register for a reminder 48 hours in advance of the event. Students living outside Ontario are invited to use the event Time Zone Converter to plan their attendance.
