UHIP for Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) applies to the following two groups of students at Carleton:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • International students<\/strong> (and their dependents) enrolled in classes and physically inside Canada;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • UHIP coverage is based on terms of enrollment in classes and you will be charged accordingly;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If you are taking online classes from outside Canada, you may be exempt from UHIP.<\/em>  Email uhip@carleton.ca<\/a> for details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Students with diplomatic status who do not have medical health coverage with their Embassy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Registered students<\/strong> with domestic status\/paying domestic fees who are not yet eligible for the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    UHIP does not<\/strong> cover prescription drugs, dental or vision services. For information on the supplemental drug\/dental\/vision plan,<\/strong> for undergraduate students go to the CUSA page<\/a>. If you are a graduate student details are on the GSA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note: For students starting in winter or summer term, enrollment in the supplemental plan<\/strong> is not automatic. Please visit each site for opt-in details and deadline dates.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
