Bagels and Banter is a monthly opportunity to discuss shared research and teaching and learning topics with faculty members in a relaxed setting. Learn about new topics, teaching methods and potential research collaborations.

Bagels and Banter is open to all faculty members. Faculty members are encouraged to bring their senior graduate students along.

November’s topic “Identifying Barriers Faced by Ottawa Somali Youth in Accessing Post-Secondary and Vocational Opportunities” is presented by Adje van de Sande (School of Social Work)

We’ll discuss a community-based participatory research project with the local Somali community in which we identified barriers faced by Somali youth in Ottawa in accessing post-secondary and vocational opportunities.
