Foundations of Project Management I (Mitacs)

October 1, 2018 — October 2, 2018
Time: 9:00 AM — 5:00 PM

Location:TBD
Cost:Free
Audience:Current Students

This 2-day workshop provides an experiential, collaborative learning experience to enable participants to integrate the principles of project management, team building, group dynamics and leadership that participants can apply immediately and in their future careers and lives. Participants experience the processes of collaborative planning and management and can see the benefits firsthand.

Learning teams of approximately five people each will be formed at the beginning of this session and will work together throughout the session.  This will enable the participants to enhance their learning from each other, to experience the development of a strong team, and to develop a model of the culture that they will want to create and execute their projects.

Lunch and beverages will be provided.

All Carleton graduate students and postdocs are encouraged to attend Mitacs Training workshops, but if you are working as a TA this session can count toward voluntary paid training hours, provided that you are working as a TA in the term when the training takes place. IMPORTANT: In order for your hours to be recorded, you must send us an email from Mitacs that displays a record of your attendance. You should receive such an email in the days following the workshop. Please forward it as soon as possible to david.lafferty@carleton.ca. We cannot record your training hours if you notify us after the term deadline for submission (November 30 for Fall Term, March 30 for Winter Term).

For more information, and to register, please visit the workshop page on the Mitacs site. For more information on Mitacs Training, visit our Mitacs Training page.
