Do you have trouble making professional contacts? Does the idea of networking fill you with dread? You are not alone. Networking is essential for academic and professional success, but not all of us find networking easy. This workshop will look at some important ways of understanding professional networks, as well as common techniques for establishing and maintaining professional contacts—both classic approaches and new methods.

The workshop will consist of short instructional segments along with group discussion, so please come prepared to engage. No networking expertise or experience required.

All graduate students and postdocs are welcome. If you are working as a TA, this session counts toward voluntary paid training hours, provided that you are working as a TA in the term when the training takes place.
