Are you a graduate student who wants to put your ideas “out there” in the wider world of op-ed writing, blogging, or social media? Come to this special session with Carleton professor Mira Sucharov, who will talk about her new book, Public Influence: A Guide to Op-Ed Writing and Social Media Engagement (University of Toronto Press). Dr. Sucharov will address the complexities of writing in the digital era, with tips on how to get started, how to determine the best topics to write about, the importance of timing, dealing with blowback, and more.
Copies of Dr. Sucharov’s book will be available for purchase by credit card or debit.
If you are working as a TA, this workshop counts toward one hour of voluntary paid training hours, provided that you are working as a TA in the term when the training takes place.
