November 14, 2019 at 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Location: | Irene's Pub (885 Bank Street) |
Audience: | Carleton Community, Current Students, Faculty |
Author Meets Readers invites Carleton students and the community to join an informal discussion on new books published by members of the Carleton University Faculty of Public Affairs.
About the Book:
“Social Justice and Israel/Palestine: Foundational and Contemporary Debates” critically assesses a series of complex and topical debates helping readers to make sense of the politics surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian relationship. Together, these essays from 24 scholars and activists advance different perspectives; in some cases they are complementary and in others they are oppositional.
About the Editors:
Mira Sucharov is a professor of Political Science at Carleton University. Her research focuses on Israeli-Palestinian relations and Diaspora Jewish politics, emotions and international relations, auto-ethnography, pedagogy, and reflections on the craft of being a scholar-blogger. The book was co-edited by Aaron J. Hahn Tapper.
About the Panel: Sucharov will be joined on stage by Jonathan Malino (Professor Emeritus, Guildford University: Philosophy, Ethics, Religion), Rabbi Deborah Zuker (Kehillat Beth Israel), and Yafa Jarrar (Palestinian-Canadian Human Rights Lawyer and BDS activist).
This event is part of the Ottawa International Writer’s Festival.
