We will review the components of grant proposals as well as explore the proposal\u2019s key elements such as the statement of the needs\/problem, goals, and objectives. Our discussion will revolve around the steps to prepare for grant seeking and the techniques of formulating and presenting ideas in the proposal. Participants may bring up other related topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This module is comprised of two 90-minute sessions. In Session 1, we will focus on understanding and critiquing the writing principles and advice presented in the readings. Participants will then be asked to compose a short text to be circulated to the entire group in anticipation of session 2 which will focus on critiquing the writing samples. All participants are expected to discuss the writing samples\u2019 strengths and possible areas of improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Session 1 will take place on Thursday, February 11, 1-2:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Session 2 will take place on Thursday, February 25, 1-2:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note that you will be asked to write an abstract of a proposal narrative (300-500) which includes the statement of needs\/problem, goals, and objectives. We will discuss the assignment\u2019s details during the first session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>All graduate students and postdocs are welcome.
