The Three Minute Thesis (3MT\u00ae<\/sup>) is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 Carleton University 3MT is on!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) at Carleton is a university-wide competition for graduate students in which participants present their research and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research in an accessible and compelling way, with the assistance of only one static slide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presenting at the 3MT competition increases your capacity to consolidate your ideas and explain your research in a clear and concise manner, and in a language accessible to a general audience. Participating in the 3MT is an opportunity to enhance your communication skills and share your research and ideas with the broader community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a participant in Carleton’s 3MT competition, you will have access to training and feedback to support you as you craft and deliver a compelling and engaging presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carleton 3MT competition will be held in person on March 28, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will compete for the following prizes:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First place: $1000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second place: $500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third place: $250<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople\u2019s Choice\u201d prize: $150<\/p>\n\n\n\n
