Called to the bar in 1965, Mr. Roberts was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1979 and a Master of the Supreme Court in 1989. He practiced for many years with one of the predecessor firms of Cox & Palmer and is now welcomed back as counsel in Cox and Palmer’s St. John’s office.

Edward Roberts served the province of Newfoundland and Labrador as the 11th Lieutenant Governor from 2002 to 2008. Prior to this role, he was a minister in the cabinets of the first three Liberal premiers and acted as Attorney General for several years. His 50 years of service to the province have made him a pillar in the legal and public communities across the region.
