Personal problems can affect the lives of employees both at home and at work.

The EFAP, provided by Carleton University, is a free comprehensive program that helps employees and their families resolve personal problems that may adversely impact their work performance, conduct, health and well-being. Among the services we offer are:

  • personal crisis
  • addictive behavior
  • family concerns
  • depression
  • social and emotional adjustment
  • violent experiences
  • separation and loss
  • workplace difficulties
  • specialized issues such as: child care, financial, legal, and elder care resource support

Service is provided by the Family Services à la famille Ottawa, a private, non-profit agency which has served the Ottawa-Carleton community for over 90 years. It is staffed by professional counsellors and allied professionals who are trained to deal with a wide range of family and individual problems. Family Services à la famille Ottawa is a member agency of the United Way. Additional resources and helpful information can be found in their EAP Solutions Newsletter.
