Pursuant to Article 16.3 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, subject to Article 16.2 and 16.4 through 16.7, applications are invited from members of the CUPE 4600 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following courses in the Department of Health Sciences during the Winter 2026 term:

Course description: Statistics concepts and procedures used in the analysis of health data; techniques commonly used to analyze data collected from different types of epidemiological and experimental study designs; how to interpret and present statistical findings.

Candidates should be proficient in the English language and have particular research or employment experience in the area of biostatistics. Candidates should demonstrate sufficient scholarly background and expertise to competently teach procedures used in the analysis and interpretation of scientific data generated in the in the health or biomedical sciences. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the university level.

Course description: The application of knowledge translation in the formulation of policy and the development of skills required to maximize the impact of scientific findings through real-world programs and policies, and communication skills for diverse audiences.

Course description: What comprises a healthy body and mind? This course addresses the psycho-social and biological mechanisms that may interact to determine health outcomes. The course examines complex relationships between social, environmental, and biological factors underlying some of the most important and emerging health concerns today.

Candidates should be proficient in the English language and have particular research or employment experience in determinants of health (i.e., biomedical, psychosocial, and policy perspective). Candidates should demonstrate sufficient scholarly background and expertise to competently teach both the psychosocial and biological determinants of health. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the graduate university level.

Course description: Randomization, biomarkers, endpoints, estimands, sample size requirements, random error and bias, multiple testing correction, intent-to-treat versus per-protocol, equipoise and stopping rules for trials, database development, validation and reporting/transferring, development of statistical analysis plans, considerations around missing data.

Candidates should be proficient in the English language and have particular research or employment experience in the area of data management and analysis in clinical trials. Candidates should demonstrate sufficient scholarly background and expertise to competently teach about randomization, biomarkers, endpoints, estimands, statistical analysis, and clinical trial design. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the graduate university level.

Course description: Clinical protocols, electronic case report forms and guidelines, data management plan, monitoring plan, pharmacy manual, standard operating procedures, manual of operating procedures, delegation of authority logs and training logs. Leadership, logistics, budgeting.

Candidates should be proficient in the English language and have particular research or employment experience in the area of clinical trials operations and management. Candidates should demonstrate sufficient scholarly background and expertise to competently teach about clinical protocols, data management, monitoring plans, operational procedures, leadership, logistics, and budgeting in clinical trials. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and relevant teaching experience at the graduate university level.
