Strengthening Trauma- and Violence-Informed Physical Activity Practices<\/h2>\n

Presenters: Dr. Francine Darroch, Candace Roberts, Jessica Webb, Sarita Hira, Maddy Sheppard-Perkins, Jensen Mortka and Elia Palladino<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Health and Wellness Equity Research Group will present ongoing and proposed research in the area of trauma informed approaches in health and healthcare. First, we will discuss the Taking Steps: Warrior Women\u2019s Wellness<\/em>, a trauma- and violence-informed physical activity program based in Vancouver\u2019s Downtown Eastside. Participants in this program and research were pregnant and\/or parenting women in Vancouver\u2019s Downtown Eastside with lived experiences of trauma, racism, and substance abuse.
