Carleton University has partnered with Canadian Addictions Peer Support Association (CAPSA) since 2019 to combat stigma and improve the lives of those with lived or living experience with substance use disorders. CAPSA has shown great compassion and dedication to the Carleton University community by offering their popular All People All Pathways peer support meetings specifically for students and staff at Carleton. Below you will find information on CAPSA’s “Step Away From Stigma Fundraiser” which seeks to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to vulnerable groups in Ottawa.

Step Away from Stigma Fundraiser

On Saturday, July 25, 2020 we’re asking you to set a step goal, get out of the house, and get moving. It could be 5,000 steps, or maybe 10,000 steps, or anything it between. You can walk, run, go slow or fast – the key is to just keep moving forward.

If you would like to show your support, please feel free to join or donate to the Carleton University team CU Steps Away From Stigma here. To sign up as an individual or for more information please click here.

On the day of the big event, get moving and get those steps! And be sure to share your experience, why you signed up, and more using the #StepAwayFromStigma hashtag.

All donations earned will go towards acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) and food for vulnerable groups in Ottawa. TAX RECEIPTS PROVIDED.

Are you ready to get moving? Register today!
