Join the 4&3 Veggie and Fruit Challenge

Eat 4 & 3 or more per day for your chance to win!

*The winner of the 2021 4&3 Challenge is Jill Goodkey – congratulations Jill!

It’s hard to argue with the health benefits of a diet rich in vegetables and fruits: Lower blood pressure; reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and probably some cancers; lower risk of eye and digestive problems; and a mellowing effect on blood sugar that can help keep appetite in check.

During the month of March (National Nutrition Month), Healthy Workplace is challenging Carleton staff and faculty to eat AT LEAST 4 vegetables and 3 fruit per day from March 1 – 31!

Find out more about eating vegetables and fruits from Canada’s Food Guide. For questions about serving sizes, check out this resource.

The rules are simple:

  • Register to participate at the bottom of this page
  • Download your 4&3 tracking card
  • Record how many servings of fruits and veggies you eat per day
  • Submit your tracking card to healthyworkplace@carleton.ca by Wednesday, April 7th for a chance to win some Carleton swag!

Testimonials from Challenge Participants

Although I did not reach the minimum goal every day (sometimes because I forgot to track everything), the challenge certainly did increase my veggie/fruit intake. I even brought sticks of celery to work on many occasions and regained my love of V8 vegetable drinks over pop and my morning fruit smoothies with yogurt.” – Sylvie Beekmans
