It also identifies actions for implementing the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/national-standard-for-psychological-health-safety-in-the-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace<\/a>, which Carleton committed to in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/cu-file\/healthy-workplace-strategic-plan-2019-2022\/\">View The 2019-2022 Strategic Plan<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"year-two-update-2020-2021\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Year Two Update (2020-2021)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Healthy Workplace Committee and Champions are pleased to provide the Carleton campus an update of the accomplishments achieved in the second year of the three-year Healthy Workplace Strategic Plan (2019-2022):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Saw an increase of <strong>131% in faculty and staff participation <\/strong>in <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/workshops-events\/\">Healthy Workplace<\/a> programming from the 2019\/2020 academic year to the 2020\/2021 academic year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expanded the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/team\/\">Healthy Workplace Committee<\/a> to ensure the membership reflects our values of diversity and inclusion, and to further our coordination with other university-wide initiatives (such as <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/indigenous\/kinamagawin\/\">Kin\u00e0m\u00e0gawin<\/a>\u2013 Carleton\u2019s Indigenous Strategy, the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/read\/accessibility-strategy\/\">Coordinated Accessibility Strategy<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/edi-plan\/\">Equity, Diversity &amp; Inclusion Action Plan<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delivered a suite of virtual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/mental-health\/\">mental health training opportunities&nbsp;<\/a>for faculty and staff in collaboration with Learning and Professional Development, with new topics related to our current context including Stress &amp; Anxiety, Isolation &amp; Loneliness and Substance Use &amp; Addiction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed and launched the new Workplace Mental Health for People Leaders training in collaboration with Human Resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hosted regular virtual Staff Check-In sessions and Management Mornings &amp; Afternoons sessions in response to the expressed needs of faculty and staff, in collaboration with Human Resources and Learning and Professional Development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further developed and expanded the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/mental-health\/\">Workplace Mental Health<\/a>&nbsp;resource page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supported the Office of Quality Initiatives in the development and implementation of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/qualityinitiatives\/change-management\/\">Change Management Workshop Series<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Co-hosted&nbsp;January 2021 Let\u2019s Talk&nbsp;event \u201c<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">From the Ashes: My Story of Being M\u00e9tis, Homeless, and Finding My Way<\/strong>\u201d featuring author Jesse Thistle with campus partners: Carleton Leader, the&nbsp;Office of the VP (Students &amp; Enrolment), the&nbsp;Rideau River Residence Association, the&nbsp;Department of Psychology&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Carleton University Students\u2019 Association (CUSA). 478 faculty, staff, students and community members attended!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hosted regular Stress Management group workshop series for staff, as well as for faculty and instructors,&nbsp;with Dr. O\u2019Farrell, C.Psych. and Stress Management group workshop series for parents with Dr. Jacqueline Legacy, C.Psych.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relaunched the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Mental Health Speaker Series<\/strong> virtually, highlighting Carleton faculty members\u2019 research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partnered with Equity &amp; Inclusive Communities and the Centre for Indigenous Initiatives to offer <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Community Healing Sessions <\/strong>for Black, Indigenous and Racialized faculty and staff, and a <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Community-Wide Engagement Session<\/strong> for all faculty and staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Join Carleton\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/mental-health\/about\/\">Mental Wellness Research and Training Hub<\/a> (MeWeRTH) as an Associate Member<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launched the new <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/accessibility-wellness-speaker-series\/\">Accessibility &amp; Wellness Speaker Series<\/a> in collaboration with Carleton\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/read\/\">READ Initiative<\/a>, in support of Carleton\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/read\/accessibility-strategy\/\">Coordinated Accessibility Strategy<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partnered with Sustainability Carleton on a variety of initiatives, including <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Cleaning the Capital for Earth Day<\/strong> and the <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Spring Cleaning &amp; Decluttering Challenge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offered the annual <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">CU Healthier Challenge<\/strong> virtually in January 2021, with a record number of participants: 90 faculty and staff!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supported the Office of Quality Initiatives in hosting the hugely successful virtual Service Excellence Awards, with 600 people in attendance. We received a record number of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/service-excellence\/service-excellence-nominees\/\">nominations<\/a>&nbsp;during the 2020 year as well:&nbsp;482 compared to 295 in 2019&nbsp;(that\u2019s a&nbsp;<strong>63% increase!<\/strong>). Nominees were recognized through the annual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jTEbOOhKrqQ&amp;feature=emb_imp_woyt\">Service Excellence video<\/a>, and both the nominees and the recipients were recognized on the Service Excellence&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/service-excellence\/2020-service-excellence-award-recipients\/\">website<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reviewed and updated the<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/Healthy-Workplace-Policy.pdf\">Healthy Workplace Policy<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These initiatives support the goals as outlined in the Healthy Workplace Strategic Plan. As we moved our offerings online, we continued to place a priority on the health and well-being of all members of our campus community by creating the space to have informal discussions about how people are adapting, and to discuss best practices about working from home. We have made great progress in our second year of the strategic plan, but we must continue to improve how we meet the needs of all members of our diverse campus community. We are committed to continuous improvement in building a thriving, healthy workplace and we will continue our work in collaboration with our campus partners and members of our campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"year-one-update-2019-2020\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Year One Update (2019-2020)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Healthy Workplace Committee and Champions are pleased to provide the Carleton campus an update of the accomplishments achieved in the first year of the three-year Healthy Workplace Strategic Plan (2019-2022):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Delivered a suite of <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/learninganddevelopment\/mental-health-training\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mental health training opportunities<\/a> for faculty and staff in collaboration with Learning and Professional Development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed regular Remote Staff Check-In sessions and virtual Management Mornings &amp; Afternoons sessions in response to the expressed needs of faculty and staff, in collaboration with Human Resources and Learning and Professional Development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further developed and expanded the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/mental-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Workplace Mental Health<\/a> resource page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Co-hosted <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">January 2020 Let\u2019s Talk<\/strong> event featuring Kellylee Evans with campus partners: Carleton Leader, the&nbsp;Office of the VP (Students &amp; Enrolment), the&nbsp;Rideau River Residence Association, the&nbsp;Department of Psychology&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Carleton University Students\u2019 Association (CUSA).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launched <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Stress Management Group pilot<\/strong> with Dr. O&#8217;Farrell, C.Psych.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed and delivered <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Supporting a Colleague<\/strong> workshops and moved them online in May 2020.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed and mailed out<em> <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Supporting a Colleague: A Step-By-Step Guide<\/strong> <\/em>document to all faculty and staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed and delivered <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Recognizing Stress and Building Resilience<\/strong> workshops and moved them online in May 2020.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Worked in collaboration with Human Resources to cross-promote information about Carleton&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/employee-family-assistance-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Employee &amp; Family Assistance Program<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Achieved Gold Level certification in <em>Mental Health at Work<\/em> standard from <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/journey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Excellence Canada<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"dimensions-of-well-being\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dimensions of Well-Being<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Healthy Workplace Committee recognizes that there are various dimensions that can influence an individual\u2019s well-being and thereby impact a Healthy Workplace culture. These dimensions are not independent, but rather interdependent and interconnected.
