Derived from the Japanese words <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\"><em>kara<\/em> (empty) and <em>te<\/em> (hand), karate is aptly termed the Art of Empty Hands.<\/strong> It encompasses a variety of techniques that ingeniously utilize the body to confront challenging circumstances, fostering resilience applicable to everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regular karate practice provides both physical and mental benefits, contributing to a healthier lifestyle. It can strengthen the mind-body connection, sharpen awareness, improve the perception of timing and distance, and develop courage and sound judgement. Moreover, karate fosters a sense of community among practitioners through interactive training and shared practice.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About The Special Karate Workshop Series:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop series will provide opportunities to<strong> learn, explore, and enjoy new skills<\/strong>, with an emphasis on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fundamental techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Body movements and breathing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self-awareness, visualization, and appropriate responses when facing difficult situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workshop series is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and can be adapted to accommodate different abilities. If you have questions or concerns, please contact healthy workplace or the instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The sessions will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Warm-up, static, and dynamic stretches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic movements, stances, and techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications through interactive practices with a partner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction to intermediate and advanced movements with examples<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction to<em> Peace of Mind<\/em> forms (a series of five forms)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Participants: <\/strong>The workshop will be offered to Faculty and Staff members.<br><br><strong>Duration: <\/strong>Nine sessions, each lasting 1 hour. <em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">Although participants can attend any individual session, the sessions will build on each other so attending the series is highly
