Excellence Canada developed and maintains the <em>Healthy Workplace<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>, Mental Health at Work<strong>\u00ae&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>and&nbsp;<em>Excellence, Innovation, and Wellness<strong>\u00ae<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/em>standards. Each standard includes a four-level implementation model. Each level is progressive in scope, and ranges from Bronze Level to Platinum Level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"our-journey-so-far\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Journey So Far<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Carleton currently holds the&nbsp;<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Canada Order of Excellence<\/span>&nbsp;<\/strong><em>Healthy Workplace\u00ae<\/em>&nbsp;certification (university-wide), <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Platinum<\/strong><\/span> Level <em>Mental Health at Work\u00ae<\/em> certification (university-wide), <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gold<\/span><\/strong> Level <em>Excellence, Innovation &amp; Wellness\u00ae<\/em> certification (for the Finance &amp; Administration division), and&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Bronze<\/strong><\/span><em>&nbsp;<\/em>Level <em>Excellence, Innovation &amp; Wellness\u00ae<\/em> certification (for the Students and Enrolment division).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"cu-section cu-section-7xl not-contained  cu-prose cu-prose-dark\"><figure class=\"cu-embed cu-component not-contained mx-auto max-w-7xl\"><div class=\"relative w-full pb-[56.25%] overflow-hidden border border-cu-black-100\"><iframe title=\"Videos Embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0Uqqj0-ihlQ\" class=\"cu-embed-iframe\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"certifications\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Certifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Certification<\/th><th>Description<\/th><th>Carleton has achieved<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Healthy Workplace\u00ae&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>This progressive set of requirements provide a system for the development, implementation and sustainability of a healthy workplace environment.&nbsp;Built on a solid foundation, the Excellence Canada Healthy Workplace\u00ae criteria provide a holistic, success-focused approach that helps individuals and organizations develop tangible goals for achieving continuous improvement and excellence in workplace wellness issues.<\/td><td><strong>Canada Order of Excellence<\/strong>&nbsp;in October 2021.<br>\n<span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">The Canada Order of Excellence (COE) builds on the achievements and outcomes from the previous four levels with a focus on sustaining excellence in Healthy Workplace\u00ae over time. The organization has maintained good to excellent results and positive trends from its efforts for overall improvement in the physical and psychological health and safety factors in the workplace. The organization can clearly identify sustained improvements against specific objectives and goals. The key outcomes of COE are:<\/span><p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sound systemic approach to physical and psychological health and safety in the workplace.<\/li>\n<li>Continuous improvement continues to be a \u201cway of life\u201d with full integration into culture and systems.<\/li>\n<li>Sustained positive improvements in all areas over at least three years (trend data required).<\/li>\n<li>Organization is viewed as a leader within its sector regarding physical and psychological health and safety in the workplace, in terms of knowledge sharing, industry and benchmark leadership and best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Mental Health at Work\u00ae<\/strong><\/td><td>This progressive set of requirements is a proven methodology for implementing <em>the&nbsp;National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, <\/em>which <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/national-standard-for-psychological-health-safety-in-the-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton committed to in 2013<\/a>.&nbsp;Mental Health at Work\u00ae&nbsp;allows you to focus resources and initiatives to achieve a dramatic improvement in prevention of illness, reduction of lost time, and higher engagement of employees.<\/td><td><strong>Platinum Level<\/strong> in October 2021.<br>\nThe Platinum level builds on the achievements and outcomes from the previous three levels with an emphasis on establishing sustainable practices. The organization has achieved good to excellent results and demonstrates positive trends from its efforts in improving mental health. Demonstrates Carleton&#8217;s focus on continual improvement to employees, customers, suppliers, your board, and other stakeholders.<\/td><td><strong>Gold Level<\/strong> in June 2017<br>\n(for Finance &amp; Administrative division)<br>\nThere is a division-wide implementation of the strategic focus on excellence, innovation and wellness through the understanding and application of the Standard. Positive results are being achieved across all departments within the division.<strong>Gold Level <\/strong>in November 2023<br>\n(for Students &amp; Enrolment division)<br>\nThe Carleton University Students and Enrolment Division is made up of 23 units consisting of over 400+ professional staff and continues to be committed to the&nbsp;<em>Excellence, Innovation and Wellness<\/em><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;(EIW) initiative.
