{"id":338,"date":"2015-12-06T20:38:06","date_gmt":"2015-12-06T20:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritageengineering\/?page_id=338"},"modified":"2021-01-21T15:56:12","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T20:56:12","slug":"application","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritageengineering\/info-for-applicants\/application\/","title":{"rendered":"Required components of an application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING MASTER\u2019S APPLICANTS FOR THE FINAL YEAR OF THE PROGRAM.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply to the Master&#8217;s or Ph.D. program, an applicant must submit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: upper-alpha;\">\n<li>Applicant&#8217;s CV (maximum 3 pages) outlining:\n<ul>\n<li>academic background;<\/li>\n<li>professional\/work experience;<\/li>\n<li>research experience; and<\/li>\n<li>other relevant accomplishments and skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Applicant&#8217;s motivation letter (maximum 2 pages) setting out:\n<ul>\n<li>level of awareness and interest in heritage conservation and built environment sustainability;<\/li>\n<li>proficiency and record in: academic, research, leadership and presentation;<\/li>\n<li>motivation for applying for the program; and<\/li>\n<li>research intentions in at least one of the three research tracks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Applicant&#8217;s work sample, either in writing (1000-3000 words) or design project (up to 10MB) or a combination.<\/li>\n<li>Applicant&#8217;s academic transcript (PDF).<\/li>\n<li>One reference (maximum 2 pages, can be the same one used for entry to the Masters- or Ph.D.-level degree program) comprising:\n<ul>\n<li>a signed letter from the referee that addresses the applicant&#8217;s:\n<ul>\n<li>academic ability and record;<\/li>\n<li>research ability and record;<\/li>\n<li>teaching and language ability;<\/li>\n<li>creativity;<\/li>\n<li>professional experience;<\/li>\n<li>work ethic; and<\/li>\n<li>accomplishments, skills and strengths; and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Please note, we are no longer requiring a referee&#8217;s confidential appraisal form as we are experiencing technical difficulty with this form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Items A-D can be submitted online using the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritageengineering\/application-for-masters-and-phd-programs\/\">Online Application Form<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Item E (reference letter) must be submitted to the program by your referee<\/strong>, by emailing the Program Coordinator, Laurie Smith, at &#x6c;&#x61;&#x75;&#x72;&#x69;&#x65;&#x2e;&#x73;&#x6d;&#x69;&#x74;&#x68;&#x33;&#x40;&#x63;&#x61;&#x72;&#x6c;&#x65;&#x74;&#x6f;&#x6e;&#x2e;&#x63;&#x61; .<\/p>\n<p>Pre-selected applicants will also be interviewed before an admission decision is made.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PLEASE NOTE WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING MASTER\u2019S APPLICANTS FOR THE FINAL YEAR OF THE PROGRAM.
