{"id":453,"date":"2016-01-22T18:27:18","date_gmt":"2016-01-22T23:27:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritageengineering\/?page_id=453"},"modified":"2019-02-25T15:40:23","modified_gmt":"2019-02-25T20:40:23","slug":"criteria-for-granting-postdoctoral-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritageengineering\/info-for-applicants-postdoc-program\/criteria-for-granting-postdoctoral-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"Criteria for Postdoctoral Fellowship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING PDF APPLICANTS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered for the post-doctoral fellowship:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicant has successfully completed a Ph.D. degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering within the past five years.<\/p>\n<p>Applicant has an overall average of A- or higher (GPA of 9.0 on a 12-point scale, or equivalent).<\/p>\n<p>Applicant has a strong background in and knowledge of heritage conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Applicant has a good work ethic and strong skills in research, writing, leadership and presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Applicant has submitted a research proposal that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>addresses the development of digital workflows for heritage conservation;<\/li>\n<li>explores and exploits one or more of the following techniques: BIM, digitally assisted fabrication; digitization in aerial, terrestrial or marine environments; or building performance simulation;<\/li>\n<li>includes an internship component;<\/li>\n<li>sets out a realistic schedule for achieving the project within the one-year time-frame of the fellowship; and<\/li>\n<li>is coherent, persuasive and well-presented.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the following Carleton University professors has agreed to act as the applicant\u2019s supervisor:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mariana Esponda (Architecture)<\/li>\n<li>Jeffrey Erochko (Civil &amp; Environmental Engineering)<\/li>\n<li>Stephen Fai (Architecture)<\/li>\n<li>Jeremy Lalibert\u00e9 (Mechanical &amp; Aerospace Engineering)<\/li>\n<li>David Lau (Civil &amp; Environmental Engineering)<\/li>\n<li>Liam O\u2019Brien (Civil &amp; Environmental Engineering)<\/li>\n<li>Mario Santana (Civil &amp; Environmental Engineering).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The required components of an application for the post-doctoral fellowship are listed <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/heritageengineering\/required-components-of-a-post-doc-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Online Application Form is here.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING PDF APPLICANTS.
