Jennifer Evans has contributed an essay to the exhibition catalogue for Lisetta Carmi. Molto vicino, incredibilimente lontano/Extremely close, incredibly far at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa Italy. The exhibition features black-and-white photographs from the series I Transvestiti from the 1960s, a milestone in the history of photography, showcasing iconic images that are now presented alongside their colour variations, rediscovered only in 2017. Evans’s essay is entitled “Ties that Bind: Kinship, Adjacency, and Carmi’s Trans Camera.” The exhibition is on until March 30, 2025.
