Nov 26-Dec 23, 2019 – “Humanitarian Archives Rescue”

Six Stories from the Carleton Collection, 581 MacOdrum Library

Boxes of personal papers, photos, films and objects from veterans of Canada’s NGO and development agencies have converged on Carleton’s Archives and Special Collections over the past five years. To rescue these documents, retired humanitarians have worked with the Carleton-based Canadian Network for Humanitarian History and the University archivists.
The exhibit showcases six groups of documents of this growing collection.
Over the Fall of 2019, 30 students of History 3111: History of Humanitarian Aid interviewed donors, examined the content of the boxes, and visited the CIDA Photo Collection, to select treasures of these records.
