What is your favourite thing about the program?

My favourite thing was definitely the variety of courses I was able to take and the welcoming environment I was a part of. There were so many things I could choose to learn like the History of the Body and History of Alcohol, all done with amazing people.

What will you miss the most?

I’ll miss the people for sure. I made so many friends through classes and that’s something I don’t think I’ll be able to recreate anywhere else.

What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?

I think that it would be a close tie between “Passing into Poetry: Viking Age Mortuary Drama and the Origin of Norse Mythology” by Neil Price, and the Maleus Malificarum. While the former is a secondary source and the latter is primary they are both reminders of how wild history can be. It’s easy to forget how little social behaviours and desires have actually changed, especially with romanticized views of historical culture and drama.

What’s next for you?

I’m looking for research and admin work in both the public and private sectors. I’ve been working with Library and Archives Canada and that has been a dream come true.
