What is your favourite thing about the program?
My favourite thing about the program is the passion the professors have for their area of study. Their love for history bleeds into the students and shows in their work.
What will you miss the most?
I will miss learning the quirky facts about history that make it fun. There was always something I learned during a history class that could make me laugh despite some of the heavier topics that were covered.
What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?
My favourite book from my program was called “A Woman in Berlin” by Anonymous. It is the diary of a woman living in East Berlin right at the beginning of Russian occupation of the city. It is a great insight into the lives of the people living in the city at the time and a real world view of what East Berlin looked like.
What’s next for you?
I am torn currently between moving on to teacher’s college to be able to teach high school history or to go to U of T for their Masters in Museum Studies and Curatorial Studies. Until I decide I hope to travel to Europe and take some time to myself after the last couple years of studying during a pandemic.
