What is your favourite thing about the program?
History has always been a focal point of my life, Carleton offered a great setting and environment for the History program. The accessibility to the library and resources around Ottawa, as well as the focus on seminar classes in the History program were great!
What will you miss the most?
Being able to have academic discussions with classmates as well as the friendships I made within my program.
What is your favourite reading/book/text from the program?
My favourite thing about the program was the vast amount of knowledge I gained from readings such as Frederick Douglass and the surrounding American Civil War. Professor Jill St Germain taught me so much about American history and I’ve still stuck with that knowledge from my first year American Civil War Seminar, and my third year course on the topic as well.
What’s next for you?
Next for me is to find where I can contribute to History, find my place to put my passion into results. I would love to enter museum work or preservation eventually, as archeology and Paleontology were some of my earliest interests alongside History.
