Pattison), Winter 2021 \u2013 Concordia University, Department of History\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Description of Research<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amie\u2019s current SSHRC-funded doctoral research explores the under-studied legacy of comic book censorship in postwar Canada and its impact on vocational practice in schools and libraries around ideas of \u2018good reading\u2019 and child health. This work also seeks to illuminate the present through the past \u2013 looking critically at how the current surge in book bans and challenges builds on past censorship campaigns bolstered by community and educational organizations.
