Each year the NACBS awards eight prizes to the best essays on British topics submitted by undergraduates studying in American and Canadian universities. Dancho wrote &#8220;Patriotism before Feminism: Images of Women in the British Media During the First World War.\u201d&nbsp; Rymes&#8217; winning essay was &#8220;Manipulated Voices: The Times Use of Soldier&#8217;s Letters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NACBS is a scholarly network that studies every aspect of British society. Aside from offering several academic prizes, it also publishes the Journal of British Studies\u2014a critical resource for scholars of British culture. Given the multidisciplinary scope of the NACBS, the Undergraduate Essay Contest allows submissions from a variety of disciplines including English, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, and History.
