Her commitment to improving the City of Ottawa was demonstrated through her support of non-profit housing, public transportation and the arts. A strong advocate for the rights of women, visible minorities, and lesbian and gay citizens, she also worked to bring 4,000 people fleeing Vietnam and South East Asia to Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Gorham will be joined by Marion\u2019s son Paul Dewar, former Member of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.writersfestival.org\/about\">Ottawa Writers Festival<\/a>. The festival is a twice-annual event held to celebrate the diversity of the literary world. The festival features poetry performances, debates, fiction, developments in science and much more.
