Included among Carleton’s winners was Jennifer Evans, whose Insight Development Grant will enable her to pursue a project with noted Canadian audio-visual artist Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay. Their project Libraries, Sound, and the Performance of Queer Kinship will explore the personal libraries and salons of gay, lesbian, and trans scholars the world over, linking them through their collection, scholarship, and material objects. This study in queer kinship, uniting history with artistic practice, will result in an art exhibition to be held at the Carleton University Art Gallery in 2020.

Award recipients: http://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/news_room-salle_de_presse/press_releases-communiques/2017/research_funding-financement_de_recherche-Nov2017-eng.aspx

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada announced over the weekend the results of the Spring 2017 funding competition.
