The award was given for his book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/9000-Years-Wine-World-History\/dp\/1770502408\"><em>9000 Years of Wine: A World History<\/em><\/a>, which was published last year.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">The Awards are designed &#8220;to recognize and celebrate superior writing and publishing throughout Canada&#8217;s culinary world.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: black;\">The Gold Award in the &#8220;Culinary Narratives&#8221; category was won by Vancouver chef (and one of Canada&#8217;s greatest chefs) Vikram Vij, for his book, <em>Vij<\/em>, an account of his career.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Rod Phillips won the Silver Award in the &#8220;Culinary Narratives&#8221; category at the 21st Taste Canada Awards Gala in Toronto on 29 October.
