Klausen<\/a> has won a visiting fellowship to the Netherlands Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) in Amsterdam for ten months,&nbsp;from September 2019 to June 2020. Klausen will use her time as a NIAS Fellow to write&nbsp;the manuscript for her next monograph,&nbsp;tentatively titled <em>Forbidden Desire: The&nbsp;Criminalization of Inter-racial Relationships in Apartheid&nbsp;South Africa<\/em>.&nbsp;Klausen is extremely proud to win this prestigious award and excited to be moving to Amsterdam next year. She says she is certain that working in an inter-disciplinary intellectual&nbsp;community of&nbsp;fellows from around the world will provide the perfect environment for thinking&nbsp;through a range of&nbsp;questions about&nbsp;experiencing&nbsp;sexual and emotional intimacy&nbsp;in&nbsp;authoritarian white supremacist&nbsp;societies like apartheid South Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Susanne M.
