A Letter of Employment is requested for proof of employment while still actively working. Our standard letters contain the following:

  • Position/Title
  • Employment Status (Continuous/Casual)
  • Annual Salary
  • Hire and End Dates

If you need additional information to be included, please be sure to put your request in the “Comments” section of the request form.

How do I get a Letter of Employment?

To request a Letter of Employment, please complete the Letter of Employment Request Form below. Make sure that all mandatory fields have been filled out.

Who can request one?

Any active or former employee can request a letter of employment.

If you will be working at Carleton University in the future, please note that a letter cannot be prepared until your position is set up in our system. If you have any questions, please contact Human Resources.

How long will it take?

The wait time for a letter of employment is 3-5 business days.
