The leave approver can return the entry to be corrected. Select the employee you want to correct, select ‘Options’ from the Menu bar, then select ‘Return Time for Correction.’ The employee is now at ‘Return for correction’ status. You can update the leave amounts and re-submit the time for approval.
There are a number of possibilities of what happened here.
First, you should confirm if all of the parameters have been entered correctly. They should be something like the following:
Entry by: ‘Leave Report’ – default is Time Sheet
Time Entry Method: ‘Department’
Organization: your 3-digit department number
Transaction Status: ‘Not Started’
Payroll ID: ‘LV’
Payroll #: # for the month you are trying to enter
Secondly, you should check to see if you have already opened leave for the current period. You can do this by changing the Transaction Status to ‘All (except not started)’ then click next block. If employees appear now, the leave was already opened for the month.
Another possibility is that there is an error message preventing you from opening your leave entry. Check the status bar at the bottom of the banner to see if there is any error message displayed. Contact Human Resources for assistance at this point.
You will have to wait until the next leave period to enter the time taken for the month. Please enter all leave information for the missed leave period in the second available column in the calendar. See the Leave Reporting Instruction Manual for detailed instructions. Don’t forget to let the affected employees know that their leave balances will not be up-to-date in Carleton Central.
A leave proxy is another employee who can enter and/or approve leave on your behalf for backup purposes. HRIS must setup your proxy. If you want to setup a leave proxy, provide HRISwith the following information:
There are two ways to validate leave entry. The first is by using the banner form PHADSUM, which is a summary form that allows you to see the status of leave records in your department. The second method is to run the GREPORT named HR_LEAVE_TAKEN_XLS for the month. Detailed instructions can be found in the Leave Reporting Instruction Manual.
