This online tool, accessible via the <a href=\"https:\/\/gwl.greatwestlife.com\/MyLogin\">GroupNet website<\/a>,&nbsp;provides&nbsp;easy access to free tools and resources that can help prevent, improve or address mental health issues in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/healthy-workplace-strategic-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Healthy Workplace Plan<\/a>,&nbsp;Carleton is looking at steps to further develop a culture of psychological safety and health through concrete, sustainable actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a university, we all have a role to play in the health and well-being of our students. The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/studentsupport\/student-mental-health-framework\/\">Carleton University Student Mental Health Framework<\/a>&nbsp;is an important addition to Carleton University\u2019s efforts to promote positive mental health and assist students in realizing their potential. Its purpose is to facilitate a consistent and integrated approach to responding to Carleton students who are in distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"employee-and-family-assistance-program\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Employee and Family Assistance Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Employee &amp; Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is a confidential information counselling and referral service provided without cost to eligible Carleton University employees, and immediate family members. Carleton University provides this program through a contract with Family Services Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Counselling services are available to help address a broad range of personal and work-related concerns, including personal crises, separation and loss, parenting issues, anxiety, substance abuse, eldercare and childcare, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EFAP is also a great resource to help you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Feel better about yourself and your situation, knowing you are working to create change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience improved relationships and better communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve stress management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work more effectively<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access professional and confidential assistance at no cost to you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain assistance in locating community resources appropriate to your needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfseap.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EFAP website<\/a> offers information about the services available to you and your family along with tips and self-directed help on various health and wellness topics. Carleton employees can click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/i.carleton.ca\/hr\/employee-resources\/wellness\/\">here<\/a>&nbsp;to get Carleton\u2019s assigned group name and password to login to EFAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Make an Appointment:&nbsp;<\/strong>Family Services Ottawa is located at 312 Parkdale Avenue. &nbsp;To make an appointment to speak with a counsellor, call <strong>1-877-725-5676<\/strong>. Request the EFAP Coordinator and identify yourself as a Carleton University employee or family member.
