He was also a bit alarmed at the implications of AI raised by the panel.<\/p>\n<p>While there was too much to summarize, it&#8217;s clear that we can&#8217;t continue to pretend that AI isn&#8217;t changing our research, our teaching, the nature of work, and the very mission of the University.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, students still need to learn to write and think critically, but those skills have always adapted to the media through which we think and write. Writing with a fountain pen is different than composing with a word processor, and critique takes different forms in oral discourse, written texts, and online forums.<\/p>\n<p>What will it mean to think, write, teach, and learn with AI going forward?
