Research Interests: My research interests lie at the intersection between philosophy of mind, social robotics, and the cognitive sciences. For example, my Master’s thesis deals with the causes of the so-called uncanny valley phenomenon, and much of my subsequent work is focused on whether or not people experience empathy for robots. I continued this line of research for my PhD thesis, where I employed a version of the Turing test as an experimental tool to better study the dimensions of empathy for artificial agents.
