Nathan Hensley,\u00a0Georgetown University,\u00a0“After it Almost Unmade\u201d<\/p>\n

All are welcome!
\nAt a moment when the capacity for consequential action\u00a0feels diminished\u2014di\u001fused into ethers of climatalogical systems\u00a0or tangled in webs of attenuation, restriction, and foreclosure by\u00a0state and corporate systems\u2014the problem of agency arises\u00a0once again. This talk draws on ecological theory and archival\u00a0research to sketch the dilemma of action now. Reading poetry\u00a0about wreckage by Gerard Manley Hopkins and fragile, fragmentary\u00a0verse-objects by Emily Bront\u00eb , it aims to show how literary\u00a0performance might help us imagine possibility in a damaged\u00a0present.<\/p>\n
