Followed by a Q&amp;A with Professor Robinson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\">This film documents a process of redress undertaken by Dr. Dylan Robinson (St\u00f3:l\u014d\/Skwah) and members of the Nisga\u2019a Nation (Keane Tait, Michael Dangeli) with the Canadian Opera Company for their 2017 production of Louis Riel, which contains the unauthorized use of a Nisga\u2019a Limx ooy song belonging to the House of Sgat\u2019iin.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\"><strong>Tuesday, March 10th, 6:30 pm to 8 pm<\/strong><br \/>\nCollege of the Humanities (Patterson Hall 303)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\">pandemonium ts\u2019\u00e9qw\u2019<br \/>\n<strong>Chris Faulkner Lecture in Cultural Mediations (ICSLAC)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\">In this lecture, Robinson will argue that public art plays a significant role in the formation of settler subjectivity and indigenous resurgence by focusing on non-human forms of vocal address and, in particular, the sensory appeals of public art.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\">Organized by Dr. Malini Guha, holder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/icslac\/ruth-and-mark-phillips-professorship-in-cultural-mediations\/\">Ruth and Mark Phillips Professorship (RMPP)<\/a> with support from Indigenous Studies, Film Studies, Music, Research Centre for Music, Sound and Society in Canada, Ruth and Mark Phillips Professorship in Cultural Mediations<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The Chris Faulkner Lecture Series\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chris Faulkner Lecture in Cultural Mediations is an intellectual forum which brings together faculty and students from across campus with high-level visitors to work collaboratively on ideas that matter in cultural theory, memory studies, Indigenous studies, digital culture, museum studies, gender and sexuality studies, and transnational studies.
