In this age of social media, when trailers are more readily accessible than ever before, it has become a ubiquitous consumer product for screen audiences. Academics have begun to study the trailer in terms of production, “components” and audiences, and in doing so have adopted a variety of perspectives. This panel will explore the diversity of approaches that can be mobilized in exploring the world of trailers. Each panelist will briefly present his or her methodology in working with trailers, which will be followed by an open discussion.

Please join us on Wednesday, November 12, 3:00 – 4:45 p.m., 201D St. Patrick’s Building.

Brief biographies for the participants may be found here. To rsvp, please contact Dawn Schmidt, Administrator by email at Dawn.Schmidt@Carleton.ca – space is limited.

The Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture (ICSLAC) and the School for Studies in Art and Culture: Music present a “CULTURE HUB” event: Working with Cinematic “Paratexts”: A panel discussion with: James Deaville, Ed Vollans, Agnes Malkinson, Dan Hesford and David Richler.
