Dr. Matthew Croombs completed his dissertation, \u201cAn Opposition in Search of Itself: Modern French Cinema and the Algerian War\u201d in the fall of 2013.\u00a0In the spring of 2015, he will begin a two year postdoctoral project with the Film Studies Department at King\u2019s College London. His new project, \u201cArchaeologies of Resistance: Ren\u00e9 Vautier and the Counter-Visual History of the Algerian War\u201d investigates a body of collectively authored, anti-colonial cinema, whose production, distribution, and exhibition contexts were organized by the activist filmmaker, Ren\u00e9 Vautier.<\/p>\n
