We are currently considering applications for funded doctoral positions in the PhD program in Cultural Mediations<\/b> for the fall of 2021. Deadline: ongoing (while funding is available) until July 19th, 2021. The PhD in Cultural Mediations<\/a> fosters theoretically informed approaches to art and culture that cross traditional disciplinary divides. <\/span>The program builds on training in interdisciplinary methodologies and specific disciplines to provide unique opportunities for <\/span>innovative doctoral research<\/a>. <\/span>Selecting from four areas of specialization (Literary Studies, Musical Culture, Technology and Culture, Visual Culture), Cultural Mediations students<\/a> have the freedom to blend <\/span>courses<\/a> and pursue <\/span>research projects<\/a> that call for interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. The program is housed in the Institute for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture<\/a>. Known as ICSLAC, the Institute is a haven for intellectually rebellious researchers. It offers a collegial, vibrant and creative environment, where doctoral students can draw from an accomplished and eclectic <\/span>academic community<\/a>, get involved with an active network of Canada Research Chair<\/a> and research centres<\/a>, as well as contribute to talks<\/a> and seminars<\/a> transcending conventional boundaries. In addition to funding packages offered upon admission, many Cultural Mediations students are successful recipients of external grants<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
