His lecture raises and discusses the following question: What theoretical and practical purchase might an ethnographic evaluation of postcolonial art yield? To advance this line of inquiry, Dr. McCarthy will examine postcolonial exemplars: novelists, poets, painters, playwrights, and musicians from the Global South and the periphery of the metropole.
