Back-country canoe camping remains an important Canadian pastime and is especially popular with an aging population. 58% of Ontario Park Canoeists have 15 plus years of experience, and 40% of those who canoe do so multiple times a year. As well as being the most popular style of Canadian camping, it is a highly collaborative biophilic activity that activates all muscle groups. Among users, it is clear that the biggest reported pain point is portaging.
