Bill is the academic advisor for the Human Rights B.A. program, and has been teaching at Carleton since 1994. He is particularly interested in political repression and persecution, and how Western states, elements of their populations, and corporations are engaged in perpetrating such violence.
At the same time, he focuses on the victims of political repression, the impacts of harms done to them, and strategies that they and their allies utilize in response to this violence.
As an educator, Bill places great importance on assisting students to engage with their studies in both a critically minded and empathetic manner, and encourages their personal involvement in human rights activism.
