Co-authored by Professor Patrizia Gentile from the departments of Human Rights and Social Justice and Women’s and Gender Studies, the article “Sex Workers Are Left Out in the Cold by Ottawa’s Unjust Conviction Amendments”<\/a> sheds light on the unintended negative consequences of recent Canadian legislation aimed at protecting sex workers.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 amendments to Canada’s Criminal Code have made it easier for police to target and criminalize sex workers, ultimately making their work more dangerous and stigmatized.
