Carleton University Event Support (CUES) provides professional audio and video projection support for events held on campus. We supply, set-up, and operate equipment, and provide free consultations to determine your needs, simple or complex, and help make your event a success.

What We Do

  • Sophisticated portable sound systems with multiple microphones for the spoken word and concerts, or one microphone set-ups for guest speakers
  • Multiple screen video feeds using projection or flat panel screens for live or recorded video and PowerPoint presentations
  • Projection of live Twitter feeds related to your event
  • Laptops for PowerPoint presentations
  • Support for Carleton’s electronic classrooms

How to book

1. CONTACT CUES

To book equipment, contact CUES by phone at 613-520-2600 x1850, by email at ims.conference.support@carleton.ca, or drop by our office at 232 Tory between
8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. If you are a CUSA certified club, please click here for more information on booking.

2. DO NOT USE ESHOP INITIALLY

Please do not submit initial service requests through eShop. Initial requests/contact should go directly through the CUES office.

3. QUOTES & PAYMENT DONE IN ESHOP

After consultation with CUES staff, and upon receiving a quote, departments will be sent an eShop cart for approval prior to their event. This must be submitted for processing prior to their event taking place. Failure to do so may result in services and/or equipment being withheld.

4. TIME TO BOOK

Please place your order a minimum of 48 hours prior to your event. Later bookings cannot be guaranteed and are subject to a $100 late booking fee. Weekend orders must be received by 4 p.m. of the Wednesday preceding your event.

5. CANCELLATIONS

If you cancel less than 72 hours prior to your event, a cancellation fee equal to the labour charges of your order will apply.

6. CUSA Groups

CUSA groups must pay in full prior to their event taking place. For more detailed information, please see the CUSA Certified Clubs section below.

CUSA Certified Clubs

Permanently installed equipment

CUSA pays a blanket fee that covers certified clubs’ use of the equipment installed in IMS equipped electronic classrooms. This means that your club does not have to pay to use the permanently installed equipment, however you must book it in order to be able to use it.

You will need a key ($20 refundable deposit required) and an access code in order to use the installed equipment. Bookings must be made 48 hours in advance or a late charge of $100 will apply. Weekend orders must be received by 4 p.m. of the Wednesday preceding your event or the late booking charge will apply.

Portable Equipment

There is a charge for the use of all portable equipment and any required technicians. We will happily provide a quote for your event. Bookings must be made 48 hours in advance of your event (by Wednesday at 4 p.m. for weekend events) or a late booking charge of $100 will apply.
