Dr. Ram Sahi is former Director of electrical and renewable energy policy and program division; and former Director of climate and energy industry analysis division of the Department of Natural Resources of the federal government of Canada.  He developed renewable energy policy scenarios, and designed $2 Billion worth capital, production and tax incentives to deploy wind, solar and other renewable energies in Canada.  He was also a senior policy advisor on climate policy; energy taxation and financial incentives; and designing and analysis of petroleum production revenue sharing arrangements.  He made regular presentations to provincial governments, industry and environmental associations and academic institutions.

Dr. Ram Sahi is currently Adjunct Professor of Economics at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.  Since 2007, he has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in energy and environmental economics.  His research interests are in policy & regulations; economics & financing of energy, climate change, renewable energy; and inclusive economic development. He was an Invited Speaker of the Govt of Bihar province for its Summit Conference on private financing for power  development in India; and he is appointed  as Energy Advisor to the Govt of Nepal for its Hydro projects initiative for the country’s  inclusive development.
