When,\u202fafter a fight with her mother, 18-year-old Pique storms out of the house in search of her M\u00e9tis roots,\u202fMorag Gunn is\u202fleft to\u00a0write\u00a0the novel that will unearth\u202fchildhood memories and the truth about the town where she grew up.\u202fFlowing\u202fseamlessly\u202fbetween\u202fpast and present, this\u202fadaptation\u202fexhumes\u202fand intertwines\u202fthe stories of Pique\u2019s\u00a0ancestors\u2014\u202fboth\u202fthe\u202fRed River\u202fM\u00e9tis\u202fand\u202fthe\u202fHighland Scots.\u202fBy\u202fweaving together\u202fpersonal memory with collective history, the play\u202flooks at\u202fhow communities carry both trauma and resilience across generations.\u202fAudiences\u202fare\u202finvited to\u202fshare in\u202fPique\u2019s\u202freclaimed\u202fstories and\u202fto\u202fconsider how understanding the past\u202fcan create space for\u202fhealing,\u202funity,\u202fand joy\u202fin the present.<\/p>\n
